You MUST read the description and installation instructions

I bought these to fit my 1985 Iroc-Z Camaro along with the Hedman Y-pipe 17478 to retain the factory exhaust routing. First of all, to address the many reviews I have read here and from other sellers regarding these headers: #1) It is CLEARLY stated that they are NOT painted with high temp paint! YOU MUST REMOVE THEM AND REPAINT WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE PAINTING! #2) Scratches on the paint where they appeared? See above! I had minor scratches but since I sanded them down and applied high temp paint who cares? #3) Sharing Issues. Yes, they fit exactly in the space provided. So much so that with a collapsed engine mount you could collide with the body or frame. The guide says you need to adjust the driver's side brake lines, which you do. I was able to move mine by carefully prying open from underneath with a pry bar. INSTALLATION: They were easy to install if you take your time and follow the instructions. The hardest part so far has been removing the cast iron headers and then reinstalling the header on the driver's side. You MUST remove the motor mount bolt and lift the motor up an inch or two and it will fall right in. Some bolts require the use of a wrench to tighten due to the hoses. Also note that some spark plugs require a box wrench to tighten, although they are much easier to install and hand tighten. In general I am very happy with them.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some issues
