Review on ๐Ÿšง Farmhouse Collection - Expandable Walk-Thru Room Divider Baby Gate by Nicole Scheibler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Finally a goal you can live with!

Love this gate SO MUCH! I'm also glad I paid the extra $10 to get it in the Dark Spotted Farmhouse option. This looks so much better than the lightweight version which looks like a 1950's gate! Definitely back to the gate. I gave them 4 stars for the durability factor as it is at this stage. I'm just not sure how well it will hold up because it seems a bit flimsy which may just be due to the design of the scissors, not that it will break soon but that it might not last long. But other than that, I'm giving it 5 stars overall because it's just amazing! I'm so tired of living with all the traditional children's gates that have a crossbar in the floor to trip over and the doors are narrow and take two hands to open. They are also very expensive if you want a wide opening and the door is the same size (narrow) as the gate for a smaller opening! I do not use it for babies/toddlers. I use it for dogs. We have a well trained German Shepherd and 3 small Sheuchtzu that we like to keep in our back alley when it's wet or for GSD at night. This is not the highest goal. So if you have a dog that tends to jump over it, you may need to get it a little higher off the ground to prevent this. For me it would kill my little dogs. But our dog just needs a visual reminder of the breakup so he doesn't try to jump over it. I love that I can fold it up and put it out of the way! That's my favorite thing about it. The latch is easy to use for any age group. To be honest we just close it slightly and it works for us to open it easier. The top rail is made of plastic, dark brown in our case, and slides fairly well. Installation is quick and easy with the supplied eyebolts. With our gate position, there was a post in there, so we didn't need drywall sinks. I'm not sure how well it holds in the wall, even with sinks that keep opening and closing, but that's not a problem for me. If you are tired of the traditional style baby gates, don't worry. For $40 I'm very glad I got this.
