Works great with my 1939 Royal Quiet De Luxe portable and my No. (I only rewind on original metal spools for "authenticity" and to get the plastic out of my machines.) You can get extra mileage from these black tapes by using the "red" lever from time to time flip over to meet the lower bands, and of course they wrap back and forth for reuse, unlike single hole carbon bands on today's machines. I get a good impression of the letter on the page, perhaps not as good as the original silk ribbons, and the copies are fine. If you get dirty letters, try cleaning the faces of the letters with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush.
