Too Long Best in Dogs

This sweater is thick but a little rough. My dog is 77 pounds and has a large chest. Finally something that fits her scope. BUT it is about 5 inches longer. and she will get it dirty if i let her wear it outside. Instead of returning, I folded, ironed and sewed. Not sure how long that will take. And I really can't think of a length that would be suitable for anyone other than a basset hound, corgi or dachshund.
