Works with Ooma Telo

I wanted a wired phone with two lines and caller ID for my home office. I have a home phone through my cable company and Ooma Telo for my business. I tested two other dual-line phones, the Panasonic KX-TS3282 and the AT&T 993. The AT&T phone was unusable due to a loud buzzing sound when both line jacks were plugged in. The Panasonic worked fine but I bought it without the power adapter and the universal power adapter I ordered fried the phone. The Panasonic still runs on batteries, but without the AC adapter, neither the functions nor the LCD screen work. Panasonic's line noise appears to be slightly lower than Cortelco's, but in both cases it's unnoticeable during a call. Here's what I like about the Cortelco ITT-9225: 1) There is a large message display on the top of the phone that works with both cable company voicemail and Ooma Telo voicemail. You can reprogram the Message button, which I did to access my home phone's voicemail. The light will turn off after checking the messages from any system, even the Ooma Telo unit. In addition, there is a delete message button that turns off the message waiting indicator. Unfortunately, there is no indication of which line has voicemail. 2) If someone uses a different extension, regardless of phone make or model, Cortelco will indicate that the line is in use. The AT&T phone couldn't do this, and the Panasonic only detects a busy line if the other phone is also a Panasonic (not sure if it has to be the same model). 3) The mute button does not beep when pressed. The keys are not illuminated, but the display shows "MUTE". Both AT&T and Panasonic beeped when the mute button was pressed. 4) End call button. There's a button to disable call waiting, but it only dials *70.5) The desk mount mounts the phone fairly high, making the LCD easy to read even without a backlight.6) However, there's automatic line selection when a call comes in on any line connected to a separate port (default is usually line 1). Other Stuff: Each line has its own distinctive ring, but they cannot be changed. The phone has an 8-position volume control, but there are old-fashioned HI-LO-OFF switches for calls. There is no dedicated fax/data port, you must use line 2. Hold, Line 1, Line 2, and Speaker are the only buttons with indicator lights. I didn't use the hands-free function or the conference call function. What I don't like: 1) Slightly more line noise than Panasonic. 2) The battery compartment is poorly designed; it is too small for proper battery installation. On battery power only Line 1 will work. (3 x 2A batteries are not required but the display will show a flashing battery icon if they are not installed) Overall I am very happy with the Cortelco although I have only owned it for a couple of weeks . I'm concerned about durability, but it doesn't look like any of the dual-line phones in this price range are that impressive.
