I bought this to use my laptop in my chair while watching TV and it works great. Done better than expected. Very durable. The legs are made from approximately ¼ inch thick powder coated metal. The tripod's wide legs allow it to be used on a chair and stand stably on a table. The piston and spring adjustment works well and snaps in tight. Ever since I got it, I've been using it both in the kitchen and for cooking. Elevates laptop off stand to a comfortable height for reading recipes and watching YouTube.
