Of the two options available, I have the more expensive "HD" version. This camera mounted on a Chevy Silverado truck far exceeded my expectations for video quality. While composite video doesn't deliver true HD transmission, this camera's resolution is crisp, clear, with no overprocessing and handles exposure very well. The field of view has become much more realistic and the determination of distances is excellent. In pitch black darkness the reversing lights are more than enough to make the image 100 per cent usable, although no camera will be as good as during the day. I have no complaints and I couldn't be happier. Between my 20ft trailer and various vehicles I have at least 7 cameras and this is by far the best result. Some of the others cost over $100!
