This is a great product that can restore rotten wood. As the name suggests, it is very liquid and works best when poured from above so that gravity pulls it towards the tree. They have another product, WoodEpox, that can be shaped and placed in holes. Follow the directions carefully and it will cure to a smooth, hard surface. If you paint it you will never know that the tree has been repaired. The downside is that it takes a long time to cure in cooler weather, and the directions say it may not cure below 50, so you can't use it outdoors in winter in colder climates.
