One of my favourites.

I like to use epoxy on a lot of projects. Designed to fix rotten wood, it's the best. I recently used it to repair a 70's storm door that was installed without painting the top and bottom edges. The door panels began to peel off. I laid the door flat and sealed the edges with tape. I then poured epoxy in the openings and braced the door to fill in the gaps. Worked like clockwork, now the door is better than new. (Note that epoxy doesn't sand well, but sands fine.)

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Hardly ever

Cheaper than hiring a contractor

I use this material to repair rotten woodwork in our home. If we had a professional he would probably want to replace much larger pieces of wood and it would be more expensive and I can do actual repairs that way. First I remove all the rot that I can. Then I finish the torn edges with this fixer (I usually apply it with a brush, which I then throw away). After a few hours I fill in the hole with WoodEpox mixed with wood scraps (to keep costs down). Then sand and paint. Works well.

Pros
  • Quick replacement
Cons
  • Faulty

This is a great product that can restore rotten wood. As the name suggests, it is very liquid and works best when poured from above so that gravity pulls it towards the tree. They have another product, WoodEpox, that can be shaped and placed in holes. Follow the directions carefully and it will cure to a smooth, hard surface. If you paint it you will never know that the tree has been repaired. The downside is that it takes a long time to cure in cooler weather, and the directions say it may not

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • May damage

Works great with Wood Epox

Amazing product, great for strengthening rotten wood and preparing for epoxy kits. I've just started using this liquid in combination with the Wood Epox Kit to make it easier to fill in the thin age and weather cracks that old wood gets through time and weather. You can make it as smooth and flowy as butter to eliminate the grinding process. I see a lot of people trying to use it alone as a wood filler, but I wouldn't recommend this as its main purpose is to harden weak and rotting areas andโ€ฆ

Pros
  • VOC Free & Odor Free
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Good product! Best in Household Supplies

Love this epoxy! I used it on 4 porch posts that had the bottom 3-8 inches rotted about 15 years ago. After removing loose dirt/debris I turned the posts upside down and epoxy filled in the rot. I came back the next day, mixed up the two part putty and filled the cavity with it. After a week of curing, the posts have been sanded and painted and are still strong. This is significantly cheaper than having them professionally repaired or buying new shelves. A few tips: read and follow theโ€ฆ

Best things ever! suitable for housewares

I used this WoodEpox epoxy fixer to fix a rotted corner of a wooden sash window. History of Epoxy Repair. But thanks to the help of a handyman at Houzz.com, I decided to fix the corner myself. So after digging up all of the sponge wood, I covered the cleaned area with LiquidWood to reinforce the wood around the upcoming repair. A day later I pulled the window out of the frame and got to work. I used the other end of the frame to create a template that I cut out of a plastic spatula. I dilutedโ€ฆ
