Purchased Shark Rotator NV501 in 2015 I am very satisfied with the vacuum cleaner, its design, handling and overall performance.One day in 2018 the brush stopped spinning.1.The suction motor turned on when I pressed the main switch.2.The green one Light under the top canister's brushroll switch cap came on when I pushed it.3.The white LEDs (headlights) on the impact brush assembly lit up.But the following didn't work... A. The brush wasn't spinning when I pressed the Handle lowered B. The green brushroll indicator (LED) on the lower impact brush assembly did not light up I emailed Shark and received no response I called customer service to inquire about a vacuum cleaner warranty repair Me was told that there was a eins limited warranty and I have to ship the entire bottom of the vacuum to them and the repair cost would be around $80. plus $20 shipping and handling. I fixed a shark wearing goggles and with a great explanation from SilverFoxDonBlog and a Tech Angel YouTube video, I was able to determine that there is a faulty microswitch that activates the green "brushroll" light (on the underside of the impact brush assembly) and the impact brush motor when the suction handle is lowered. I found a KW4-3Z-3 microswitch at Revain for $5.59 for 5 of these. Received, installed and the vacuum cleaner works like new. The micro switch and Revain shipping was great. Customer Service/Warranty Shark Wrong!
