or my block has a defect. It wouldn't turn on without a massive external power supply. The power supply is larger than the drive itself. This defeats the whole purpose of its portability. I needed this drive to be bus powered. To make matters worse, one of my two NVMe SSDs was not recognized. The HP brand worked fine, but SK Hynix didn't recognize slot 1 or slot 2. SK Hynix is a "Gold P31 SSD" in "PCIe NVMe Gen3 M.2" format. The drive is fine and works great in a pluggable case. EDIT: The photos for the product listing have been updated to correct their original error. It now indicates that power is required.
