First, I want to clarify that several reviewers have complained that the handheld feels "cheap". While this is true, note that this item is CHEAP at $50. There are plenty of other retro handheld gaming devices that cost over $100 if that's a problem for you. With that, diving into my own review: The first issue is that the instructions aren't very detailed. More on this. Second, outside of the SNES and other Nintendo console emulators, the default button settings suck. Third, the Sega Genesis emulator is only configured for a three-button controller; So if you absolutely have to use six buttons in a Sega Genesis game you like, you'll have to play the arcade or SNES version. If the game is exclusive to Sega Genesis, you'll have to live with it and play with three buttons. Back to the instructions: the instructions left out one important thing - how to reconfigure the buttons. You'll need to press the power button (without holding it) during gameplay, and then the menu will direct you from there. Note, however, that the button labels on the menu do not match the actual button labels on the device (X and Y on the menu, not C and D on the physical buttons). Reconfiguring the buttons to your liking isn't just for one game. This applies to the entire emulator. So if you set up a keymap for Street Fighter II and reconfigure it for Final Fight, you will need to reconfigure it again when you play Street Fighter II again. I'll also add a fourth one: I found a misnamed game. What's called Street Fighter Alpha 2 in the SNES emulator folder is actually Final Fight 2, and I can't imagine it's the only one.
