Very happy with the overall quality and performance of the product over a 100 mile ride. but to be safe I wrapped rubber tape around the holes several times after it was attached to the bike. Then I grabbed the steering wheel and shook it up and down, and there was no movement on either end. The locking mechanism on both ends feels positive and there was no movement or scratching on my bike. I lowered the reflector under the seat. a pole so it doesn't support the bike. We don't drive at night or on the road so that's not a problem. I had no trouble pulling the shutter and I was usually able to open it on the first try or two. This unit costs about $10-$15 less than the models sold by Yakima or Thule and can't see why I'd want to pay more for a nameplate. If you need a bicycle handlebar, this is the one for you. I can't guarantee it will fit on a small frame bike so read other user's comments on this. Have fun driving.
