The bike bar has been great for a while. However, after coming home from a ride in May 2019 (purchased October 2018), our bike was hanging on the stand. The bar was still buckled, but when we looked closely we found that the bar was bent at the buckle and our mountain bike was hanging.

The handlebar attaches easily and securely and handles rough terrain (2300 miles) well. I didn't like the fact that the bike was supported by a seatpost that wasn't secure so I used some heavy duty zip ties to support the bike's frame by looping it over the handlebars and it worked great.

Doesn't look like it will scratch the bike as the ends are covered in rubber. It is quick to install and uninstall. The spring on the rod is slack and appears to be oscillating. Also, the length of the hardware seems to get in the way of my bike rack. In general it works, but the design can be improved.

I was a bit hesitant to use this on my bike. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's a loose fit (understandable as it has to fit different frame sizes), but it worked great for me once I put it on a bike rack and strapped it in place. The main reason I'm giving a lower rating is that the buttons to open the two sides are pretty hard to push through. I hope it gets a little easier with some use.

Compared to the Allen 900b, this bar is a no-brainer. The only limitation I have is the maximum weight limit of 33 pounds. It worked well on both my wife's bike and my son and daughter's bikes. The rubber heads protect the bikes well and the locking mechanism on the heads keeps them closed and easy to open. Some reviews of other crossbars have criticized the length locking mechanism. This one doesn't have it, but as long as the head stays locked and the bar can support the weight, I don't see…

I just received it and this is my first time using the crossbar. The opening and locking functions work well, the crossbar slides back and forth, but it doesn't have a locking mechanism. So it locks the handlebars and seat together, but there's still play between them. This means that if you somehow forget to fasten the bike seat or if it somehow becomes loose, you will lose your bike. That's why I prefer it tight and tidy than with so much play. Worst product I've bought from Amazon! At first glance, the bar looks reasonably stable. Halfway to my destination, I noticed the bike looked weird at the back. Very happy with the overall quality and performance of the product over a 100 mile ride. but to be safe I wrapped rubber tape around the holes several times after it was attached to the bike. Then I grabbed the steering wheel and shook it up and down, and there was no movement on either end.
