With third-party firmware, everything may have been resolved, but I was not going to bother with such hassles. Although someone may enjoy this, I believe the router should operate well with few settings and be as stable as possible right out of the box. With the mini, it's the same. It is designed similarly to Redmi and operates as consistently as possible.
