Can't transfer data with Samsung ES17 camera

I was hoping that this cable would replace the long lost OE cable for my Samsung ES17 digital camera. Unfortunately, my W10 Pro PC does not recognize that the camera is connected to USB. Disappointing because the cable connectors look pretty sturdy and have a lot of length. Not sure if it's a cable or PC issue, so ymmv.
