High water pressure is bad for the water pipe and very bad for the water hoses of appliances and toilets. Out of curiosity I ordered this one and fitted it to the outer tube so that in the event of a leak there would be no problem. The installation is very easy. I used a quick coupler on the spigot and this gauge. I also caulked the threads on the quick coupler before screwing on the gauge. I reset the red arrow, turned on the faucet, took 80 off the meter and left it on overnight and saw if it ever rose. The next day black is still at 80 but red jumped to 85 so there was a very small increase in pressure. There are no leaks, so everything is fine. In general, it is very convenient to use. I will not install it permanently (quick connection explained). I only bought it to find out the water pressure and justify the need for a water pressure regulator.
