This item works as advertised. It's well made and easy to use. I bought this for my wife when she was walking our dogs. She uses it to deter stray dogs that become aggressive. She wears it on a string around her neck. All she has to do is grab and pull the device. It works like a grenade with a hairpin that prevents it from going off when deployed. In the heat of battle, grabbing and pulling the device is very quick and easy. There's also a small recessed button that sets off an alarm, but it's pretty hard to find and press if you're panicking. It's probably better to use the button to test the batteries on the block. I order another one left in her car.
