Review on π 6.5-Inch Plastic Speaker Spacer Rings - Custom Mounting Adapter for Subwoofer Mid Range Installation by Edward Henderson
I was skeptical, but this proved me wrong!
This is pretty solid quality and a great price. I use some heavy woofers with huge motors (Silver Flute) and these rings don't cause any problems. I've used MDF for many years but over time they will need to be replaced as moisture destroys them.I tried to coat the edges of the MDF and although that takes longer it still swells and falls apart over time.The only other way that I see is a better ring with Delrin, but of course that will cost a lot more.
