I bought this to carry a 10ft paddleboard on my bare roof sedan and it worked great! It's definitely not for high speeds, but for my needs (driving across town to various bodies of water) it was a great alternative to $600 for a full roof rack. I'll probably have to upgrade at some point as my travel needs grow, but it's nice to be able to take some time before making that investment. fairing (based on my research, about 8 inches from the windshield and rear window); and I needed some adjustments in my car to attach the seat belts in the least bothersome places. But still less than 10 minutes to put them on and a few seconds to take them off. My top speed with the board on the car was about 50 mph and the board wouldn't budge. If you drive mostly local roads or want to buy some time before investing in a permanent option I would definitely recommend this product. .
