As far as costume accessories go, I've struggled with them for a long time. I'm not a fan of ties that are two ends of a ribbon that allow you to tie four strands and are too short to tie a secure bow. Since it is usually worn off-center, the tie is also off-center at the back of the head. The gem part has no backing so the metal touches your skin which is something to be aware of if you are sensitive. to metals or to sweat a lot. Although covering the back with clear nail polish is a pretty easy option. However, I would have preferred a felt backing to hold it in place when trying to tie it. And once I tied him up, he didn't want to stay. I don't know how I can wear this for a specific period of time like to a costume party. Aesthetically it's beautiful, but changes need to be made to be worn on a practical level.
