Outstanding Viewing Experience

This is a DVD player on steroids anyway. Overall great quality as with most Toshiba products I've had. As this is a review and I have to be very picky, the only negative I can think of is the "load time" which seems to be a full minute. In other words, it takes about a minute from turning on the device to opening the DVD tray. Is that overkill for other HD DVD players? I have no idea, but compared to what I've used in the DVD space, it's pretty slow in that regard. However, it's not really a showstopper. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's because there's a lot more processing power "under the hood". The last thing I would like to complain about is the lack of fine-tuning of the picture (e.g. brightness, contrast, etc.) in the player itself. If this function exists, I have not found it yet. My Pioneer Upconverting Player (cheap device) has spoiled me in this regard. All in all, for the $90 I paid, this HD DVD player is great. I really hope studios will continue to release games in this format for a long time to come. I would buy another one at this price.
