First off, wire bristle grill brushes shed those bristles and you better be careful not to get them on your body. Second, the instructions for the Kitchen Aid brush (on the label) say one side is for COLD BBQ only. They will melt on a hot grill. Third, the stainless steel side is great for Kitchen Aid's round stainless steel grids. Just be careful not to snag the loops at the ends where the vertical bars meet. You can "pull" the strand out of the pad. But it will still work if you cut the train so I don't get caught again. I've been using the same KA brush for over a year and will be replacing it with another one when the time comes. I also bought one for my Weber grill and it has cleaned the grates cleaner than a Weber brush ever could.
