Review on 🔧 Vepagoo Gas Shocks Struts Lift Supports - 10 Inches, 35 Lb/156N - Compatible with Truck Pickup Tool Box Lid RV Door - Set of 2 by Chris Kirby

Dimensions are inaccurate

I purchased 10" 100N gas struts for the "toy box" lid configuration. After measuring the posts, I found that the extended length at the pivot points was 9.69" ( not 9.84) and the compressed length is 6.19" (not 6.24). So the total travel is 3.5" (not the expected 3.6). As anyone using them in a DIY project probably knows installed small differences in size can have a big impact on performance. Also I'm a bit concerned that in a device it's at the end of the extension stroke.I just hope it's not something that wears out the seal. After some fiddling I got it I got them to work for me. As a side note, I would like the sellers of these racks to also publish the dimensions of the bracket and the compressive force. These are very important parameters that you need to know, to determine the installation location. FYI: I measured around 28 pounds (not 22.5) at the start of compression (after overcoming a few extra pounds of piston friction) and around 38 pounds at full compression. For those who haven't understood it yet. To remove the end cap after it is seated on the ball joint, insert a small, strong flathead screwdriver under the metal strip on the end cap. For this purpose, a shallow groove is made in the plastic nozzle. Then lift the metal band about 1/8 inch or so until you can push out the hinge ball. Follow this procedure when choosing locations for turnpoints. I almost guarantee you'll be turning them on and off multiple times while you focus on the final installation for your DIY project.
