Review on Renewed Samsung Galaxy S8+ Maple Gold 64GB Fully Unlocked by Park Seo Jun

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

Despite all the comments, the impressions are very good. The only really annoying moment is the fingerprint scanner (probably not even because of the position, but because of the small size). Well, the need to wear a cover. But the miracle did not happen, and this smartphone was just another small step towards a brighter future. The main advantages over the nexus 6p are battery life, performance and size. Hopefully, in six months, most applications will learn to use the new elongated screens. 60 All this fun is certainly not worth it.

Pros
  • Screen - the screen is good and big. The new aspect ratio (vertical elongation) looks great. Camera - the application starts quickly, photos are taken instantly, there is optical stabilization. From the point of view of "tourist photos" everything is perfect - got it, clicked it, forgot it. There is a pro mode in which you can achieve high-quality photos. Performance - no complaints. The fastest android I have ever seen. I am also glad that you can put 2 SIM cards or a SIM card + a memory card. Battery - the capacity is small, but the battery pleased. On the basic settings, the phone lives all day with constant use. Design + ergonomics + safety - looks cool, monolithic. Retinal and fingerprint scanners work quickly if used correctly. Finally, they removed the mechanical button and made it possible to reconfigure the "back" and "application" buttons. The vertically elongated phone lies well in the hand, the fingers of the holding hand comfortably reach any point in the lower half of the screen. But still, the phone is two-handed. I had no problems with false clicks on the edges of the screen. Let's say thanks to Samsung for a decent thickness of the phone, which provides mechanical strength and a normal battery inside. Sound - I read on the Internet fears that the volume will be low. No, all is fine. Both voice and external speakers yell like crazy. Soft - if desired, the operating system of the phone can be brought to the form of a pure android. About half of the pre-installed junk can be removed or disabled. The bundle is a very smart decision to put an adapter from micro-usb to usb type-c in the box. Headphones in the same place from AKG.
Cons
  • Screen - The new aspect ratio is currently not supported by most applications. Any FBontakte will be quickly ated, and with games it will be sad. In addition, when watching a video, part of the screen is still not involved. Absolutely stupid rounding in the corners. Annoyingly too sharp automatic brightness control, it constantly throws the brightness either high or low. Camera - the phone has last year's sensor, which was not very good even then. Image processing algorithms very aggressively remove noise, while the picture is smeared. Especially noticeable in the photo inside the premises. The camera in the year before last nexus 5x was better, it retained a lot more fine details (but was slower). In addition, HDR does not work well, when you try to take a picture of the sky, something constantly overexposes. Performance - everything is ok, but the phone itself for some reason clogs 3 out of 4 GB of RAM with rubbish. But this does not affect the speed, and thanks for that. Battery - a miracle did not happen, and the phone does not live for two days. Design + ergonomics + safety - a lot of complaints. The fingerprint scanner is EXTREMELY unsuccessful. Not only is it next to the camera, but it is also small, so when using it in a case, you have to push your finger into its hole. Another problem is the "frameless" design, which consists of glass and metal and without a case will quickly break. Therefore, we immediately put on a cover-overlay. And in the case, the dimensions of the frames are already approaching traditional smartphones. The round edges of the screen and the back panel make it difficult to take the phone off the table (again, this is solved with a slip case). Sound - no stereo sound (which was in the nexus 6p, for example). Not that it is very necessary, but it is nice when the speakers are pointed at the user. Soft - unremovable trash on the phone is in quantity, some of it cannot even be turned off. Plus a completely unnecessary Bixby. Samsung also has a tradition (I watched it on the s7 edge) to make the system buttons small - you don’t always hit it with your finger the first time.
