Review on Weigesi Stainless Steel Scuff 2017 2018 by Sharmake Shuram

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Installed on my 2019 CX-5; Front Sill Plates with CX-5 Logo

Just installed on my 2019 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve. I am checking as the Weigesi door sills I received look different from the photos in other reviews. My moldings look exactly like the photo on the Revain website December 2019 and the front door panels clearly show the "CX-5" logo as shown in my photos. There is no "CX-5" logo on the rear trim panels. All four pads came with two strips of 3M mounting tape, and I added an extra double-sided "3M mounting tape" for security; Two strips of mounting tape attached to the decorative panels would probably work just fine without the extra tape. The overlays appear to be well made and arrived in a sturdy box with chrome parts well protected by a thin film that had to be removed before the overlays were fitted. I dry mounted the trim panels, marked the mounting location with masking tape, cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol and installed the trim panels. For comparison, all 2017-2020 Mazda CX-5 models use the same OEM door sill plates, and these 2017-2020 OEM door sill plates use thin button batteries for the lights and cost $400. The Weigesi pads are unlit and cost $30. The 2020 CX-5s are just arriving at Mazda dealerships and the obvious question is: will the Weigesi door sills fit the 2020 models? I can't 100% guarantee they will fit 2020 models but the OEM trim plates are the same from 2017 to 2020 and these Weigesi plates should fit 2020 models. I suspect that someone with a 2020 model will buy Weigesi pads and report back on their experience in the near future. The $30 Weigesi non-illuminated treadplates look almost identical to the OEM Mazda non-illuminated treadplates installed by a Mazda dealer. on my 2016 CX-5. Mazda's $400 OEM backlit overlays for the 2017-2020 CX-5 would be very good if you're willing to spend the money, but I was happy with my 2016 OEM non-lit overlays, and I'm just as happy with them this Weigesi door for $30. Door sills on my new 2019 CX-5.
