This lopper is a little awkward to use, since it cuts completely different than what you're used to. However, it DOES cut a full two inch branch, and quite easily. You have to hook the lopper around the branch from the side instead of going straight in. You also need to keep from twisting the lopper as this will cause the moving / cutting blade away from the anvil that it's cutting against. If used correctly, this beast is very strong and the gear drive makes it very powerful. It makes a very clean, smooth cut without any jagged edges; and so it is less stressful to the remaining tree/shrub. It is quite a bit heavier than most loppers because it is built so strong and sturdy. Very happy with this purchase.
