Great Machete, made in China

First off, I purchased this product because at least one review stated it was made in the USA. It is in fact made in China, but this is my fault for trusting everything I read! More importantly this is far better than any machete I've used. Heavy enough, but we'll balanced. Feels great in my hand. And mine arrived super sharp. I'd buy again.

Pros
  • Small and hide in my car, haven't had to use it, but worked fine for chopping some branches
Cons
  • May be uncomfortable to handle for some users

Machete FTW! in my review

If you hunt, you need a machete.period. Very comfortable grip and slices through brush right out of the case! Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Makes an excellent gift for outdoor enthusiasts
Cons
  • The blade may not be suitable for food preparation

Perfect for the outdoorsmen in your life

I bought this for my fiancé, and he loves it. He says that it feels well made and is more compact than his old one. May not be suitable for use in cold temperatures.

Pros
  • Comes with a durable sheath for safe storage and transport
Cons
  • May not be suitable for use in cold temperatures

Looks impressive: my feedback

Haven’t used it yet, that’s why I only gave it 4 stars. But it has a thick blade, solid blade all the way back so it doesn’t snap off in your hand. Stealth is nice! Nice heavy weight!

Pros
  • Huge and looks well made! Good possibility for hospital trip if not used properally
Cons
  • The blade may corrode over time

Would have been good, if it wasn't damaged.

This knife felt awesome, but it came damaged - seriously damaged. Five HUGE dents on the blade as if someone had swung it full force into a thin steel pole. I'm not quite sure how it even made it past their QC. Needless to say, I had to return it.revain promptly gave me a full refund. Just not going to take the chance on another damaged blade.

Pros
  • I have been a user of SOG products for over 20 years - solid, best feel, durable, perfectly crafted.
Cons
  • The machete may require additional tools to sharpen

The Sogfari tanto is easily my favorite machete that I own

Wow, where do I even begin? The Sogfari tanto is easily my favorite machete that I own, very close behind would be the SOG Kukri, though. It's short when compared to other machetes, but that makes it much more versatile when it comes to the areas it can be used and stored in. It's also incredibly sharp, and not to mention, well made. I would recommend this to anyone looking for anything from camping and yard work all the way up to self defense.

Pros
  • The sturdy design ensures reliable performance even in challenging conditions
Cons
  • The blade may become dull if used on hardwoods

last camping knife youll need.

used one last week to shave and chop small firewood to start a camp fire, held up great, even taping the ends down with a large branch to split a small log. hope mine holds up that well.

Pros
  • It’s a nice product for the money
Cons
  • May be too expensive for some users

New multi use camping tool

After much searching, this product works great for camping. However it could be a little heavier for a better Axe type task

Pros
  • Perfect for clearing a path through thick underbrush
Cons
  • May not be suitable for pruning trees

Nice blade for my opinion

The quality is great. The saw back works surprisingly well and it's sturdy. The only complaint I have is the length; it's more a Bowie knife. If it were like 2-3 inches longer it'd be the near perfect compact machete

Pros
  • The Tanto-style blade provides superior cutting power
Cons
  • May not be ideal for hunting or trapping

How to fix the sheath

Like a lot of reviewers, I like the tool just fine. Good to have a cheap, well-made chopper for the rough places. Grip feels like it was designed by somebody who had actually hacked on some stuff.Unlike some reviewers, I don't see any problem with the sheath. It just needs to be tuned up. The plastic insert facing the saw side of the machete is not form fit. The fat curve makes the sheath narrower than it needs to be and the saw and knife edges both hang up on the way in and out. Heat up the…

Pros
  • The blade length allows for greater power and leverage when cutting
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in residential areas

Good to go for my opinion

Got it for a buddy who does a lot of fishing, hiking, and outdoorsy stuff. He loves it, and it came in handy when clearing a path through some thick brush

Pros
  • The design allows for quick and efficient cutting
Cons
  • May be too expensive for occasional use

Good for making survival bows.

Using to make bows. Love the grip. Love the long straight edge for thinning a piece of wood. Only knock is that I'd prefer a slightly thicker blade. Not for use in chopping thick limbs. Thinner brush duty only.

Pros
  • Perfect for use in survival scenarios, such as a natural disaster
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with limited upper body strength

Great over all Macete

If you need something between a good hunting knife (4-5 inch blade) and a full size Machete (20-30 inch blade), this the one for you. I found it to be the perfect size fit, good handle and grib. Blade is strong and just heavy enough to chop and cut with. I also found it easy to sharpen. The price for these are very good compared to other brands which are usally to big to carry around with you easily.

Pros
  • Perfect for survival situations and emergency preparedness
Cons
  • Not suitable for use in confined spaces

The knife was a lot better in person than the picture

I got it on time. I was surprised to see that I got it so quick. The knife was a lot better in person than the picture. It's very sharp. It's really strong. I would seriously consider on buying this!

Pros
  • The sharp blade makes quick work of any cutting task
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cutting through bone

sog-mco4-n in my review

The sog machete tanto is a good little machete is a very good product I would recommend it to anyone that would have a need for one and would recommend the seller shipped it out within an hour after I placed my order .was in my possession in 3 days as promised

Pros
  • The blade is easy to sharpen and maintain
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with arthritis or joint pain

Revainrating 4 out of 5

great for the price

overall a decent, small machete. Not incredibly sharp out of the box. The saw side will also need some careful sharpening. The handle is sturdy and feels pretty good in the hand. It is a good 'inbetween' size and lightweight enough to carry without adding significant weight while being sturdy enough to handle most smaller chopping tasks. It's not an axe and it's not a pocket knife so understand the uses it's intended for. only complaint is the sheath had a couple of cuts in it when it arrived…

Pros
  • Ideal tool for outdoor enthusiasts and survivalists
Cons
  • The blade may be too sharp for inexperienced users

This is a Fighting/Combat Blade masquerading as a Machete! .

This is a Fighting/Combat Blade masquerading as a Machete! As someone who's had to clear Thick Brush with Machetes by hand in the 80's & 90's this SOGfari is= TOO SHORT & WAAAAAAY TOO LIGHT.You will KILL your arm having to swing it a LOT more often & harder than if you used a traditional MacheteSo WHY did I give it 4 Stars?Because as a Fighting Blade it's up there with a Tactical Bowie or Recon Tanto where being light is a must have.I wouldn't buy this Blade to clear Brush, it just isn't suited

Pros
  • The blade is corrosion-resistant and rust-proof
Cons
  • The blade may not be suitable for cutting leather

It's sharp and do the job I need to do around my house

this machete it's nice and cut even small branchesfrom trees it's great for the money i paid I honestly love it That's my review.

Pros
  • Can be used to create firewood for a campfire
Cons
  • The machete may be too loud for some users

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Careful with the edge!

Blade chips or rolls seemingly too easily but can probably be fixed via sharpening. Used it to chop down a tree approx 2.5 inch in diameter.

Pros
  • Carry it in my truck. Good basic blade.
Cons
  • Not suitable for precision cutting

Good little machete!

I bought this to strap onto my go bag, which is a standard size ruck sack. Lightweight, tough as nails, and hold an edge. It's a little small for regular farm use, but I expect it to be handy in a survival situation, where portability is key!

Pros
  • Patio, Lawn & Garden
Cons
  • The handle may not be comfortable for extended use
