I like the feel of the grip, blade could be a little heavier

Bought this for protection. It feels nice in the hand. Like the saw back. The price was great for what i need. I feel like the blade is pretty thin. So Im going to keep it and Im glad I have one cant beat the price but I wouldn't buy again Id spend a little more.Updated 10/26/17 to 4 Stars used it in the backyard cutting branches of firewood . Worked great. Still feels the blade it a little weak but for the price its AWESOME

Pros
  • Comfortable to hold and easy to use
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with small hands

Great machete, ridiculous sheath

First it's sharp, sturdy, handle is fine but could be more comfortable. Fair weight for what it is. Short but useful for small projects while hiking, etc.But come on, SOG - the sheath is ridiculous. Difficult to get the blade in and out of it. the velcro should wrap around the end of the handle also to keep it from sliding up - right now it just slides up and the sharp blade stops it from sliding more. would be so easy to make the velcro strap just a bit longer and hold it down. It helped to…

Pros
  • Gardening & Lawn Care
Cons
  • May be difficult to control for precise cutting

Great for dividing plants

I purchased this after borrowing a slightly longer Sogfari machete from a neighbor. The serrated end is great for cutting through roots. My husband uses the smooth end to clear small areas of brush and gave that function a thumbs up too!

Pros
  • The full tang design ensures maximum strength and durability
Cons
  • The blade may not be suitable for shaving bark

Amazingly good quality for the price

Amazingly good quality and heft for the price. Bought one as a gift, and just couldn't resist buying one for myself even though I am not planning a jungle visit for a while : )

Pros
  • Ideal for hunting and camping trips
Cons
  • The blade may require frequent oiling

Great quality, blade feels great

Great quality, blade feels great, it is sturdy and looks like it can take some hard work. Weight feels perfect too. The sheath is good for the price. Bought it principally because of the size, so I can put it easily inside a backpack for certain outdoor purposes. If any complaint I will update my review.

Pros
  • Wow what a great machete. Now it's my favorite. I own 3 now. Whoopie.
Cons
  • The handle may become slippery if wet

Cooler than an axe good for me

Not very good for brush because it's a chopper. Almost fully functional as a long machete in that respect. The blade may not be suitable for carving.

Pros
  • HIKING MACHETE AND SAWBACK MACHETE IN ONE: Jungle machete is a versatile survival tool with a working saw on the back of the blade; saw machete has sharp teeth that cut deep
Cons
  • The blade may not be suitable for carving

For those times when the full-size Sogfari is just overkill

My brother in-law bought me a Sogfari Machete for my birthday last year. It's great and all, but sometimes I need to move quickly you know? If I'm scavenging for supplies in an unknown town, I don't need to be weighed down with a giant machete. Enter the SOG Machete 10 inch Knife. It's got plenty of heft to take out a couple zombies outside the pharmacy, and it doesn't weigh me down on my sprint back to base camp. Win.

Pros
  • The Tanto-style blade design provides an added level of protection when using the machete
Cons
  • The blade may crack or break if used on frozen materials

It's nice best in my review

It's nice and the price is reasonable, the handle is a bit awkward and it's not the most balanced tool but you can make it work

Pros
  • Great machete be careful pulling it out of the sleeve like a ninja cause you’ll sever the holster! Lol
Cons
  • May not be legal to carry in certain areas

I like this better than the Gerber Gator Combo BackPack Axe I bought. Now I just leave that axe in the truck. For me in SoCal this is a much more useful tool that the camp axe. Check YouTube. This thing can chop thru a modestly thick branch (2+ inch) by using alternating 45 degree chops pointed inward at each other towards a central plane. This weighs a bit less too! 1 Lbs with the Sheath on.

Pros
  • Provides peace of mind while exploring the great outdoors
Cons
  • May be too heavy to carry for long distances

I am very pleased with all of my SOG blades

I am very pleased with all of my SOG blades. I give 4 stars only because i prefer the feel of my SOG Kukri, not because there is anything wrong with this blade. In my honest opinion, regarding any negative reviews, some people may not understand the use of specific blades and are not using them properly. Before you give any item a bad review, perhaps you could put a little effort into ensuring that you are using said item the way it was intended. Thank you!

Pros
  • Clearing trails while hiking. Sheath is cheap made.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for left-handed users

Great tool for the price.

Actually purchased this machete to remove some bushes from my backyard. It was put through it paces over two day of major yard work and still held an edge. Definitely worth the money.

Pros
  • Pretty cool and agile if you know how to use it
Cons
  • Not ideal for indoor use

Great Machete and Survival Blade

This is an excellent well made and balanced 10 inch machete. I've used it to hack away 1 inch diameter tree limbs , arms off of cactus, and to clear away weeds and small bushes. Saw back works but is not my first choice to saw away tree limbs. The machete held up very well and only needed moderate sharpening after the job was done. Made from 3Cr13 stainless steel in a Tanto saw back blade design with full tang which extends out through the base of the handle into a saw tooth pommel, which may…

Pros
  • Love the blade but it cut right thru the sheath..trying to find a way to purchase another one
Cons
  • Difficult to store in small spaces

Great Survival/Camp Knife Disguised As a Machete.

Love these knives! Versatile, intimidating, lightweight, comfortable to handle, and inexpensive. After receiving the first one, I immediately ordered three more. I keep one in every vehicle and in the house. As you can probably guess, I didn't get them for clearing fields, and I wouldn't recommend them for that purpose. They don't have the length or weight to serve the brush-clearing role of a traditional machete, so use the saw side if you need to cut down a tree. ;)

Pros
  • The non-slip grip provides greater control and safety
Cons
  • The blade may become rusted if exposed to water for extended periods

A great purchase best in my review

SOGfari is a great buy. Used in Smokey mountains hiking and batoning wood. Woods as a tree chopper, wood splitter, and a machete. I chopped several trees down, split 50+ logs in half, and made lots of shavings from the wood to start the fires. It still has an edge that’s not shaving sharp, but will easily cut skin if ran across blade with no pressure. I really beat this tool up. I was impressed.

Pros
  • Provides reliable performance in any weather conditions
Cons
  • May not be suitable for trimming hedges or small bushes

great knife, quite sharp out of the box

great knife, quite sharp out of the box, It penetrated about 3/4-1" into the short side of a 2x4 with minimal effort for short strike(no wind up). the sheath is lacking(but adequate) expected that for the price. Nice balance, little blade heavy, expected from a machete, but it prob helps with the cutting action.

Pros
  • Well balanced with a good grip.
Cons
  • Not suitable for delicate cutting tasks

High Quality! good for me

Extremely sharp for a machete! Small but very effective on tree clinging vines. High quality with a nice sheath. Very versatile.

Pros
  • Compact and lightweight for easy portability
Cons
  • The blade may be too heavy for some users

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very strong full tang blade.

I would say that this is a nice machete. It's the right size that you can use it for a lot more things then just a machete. The handle is rubber and the holes on the image are big enough to rap paracord around it. Overall very pleased and I think you will be too.

Pros
  • Can easily chop through tough brush and thick branches
Cons
  • The handle may not be ergonomic

i love the design.: my feedback

This is the knife that makes me want to throw all my other survival blades away. Strong quality, full tang, heavy enough for chop and hacking and sharp as hell. Its basically a mini machete. My only gripe is the scabbard could have been designed better. It tends to stick a little when sheathing and unsheathing.

Pros
  • To me it’s the right size and it does the job.
Cons
  • Poor quality materials used in construction

Great machete for my opinion

Got this at a good price due to limited supply, down to $16 from the usual $25-$30 price range. (FYI, you can find this at Dicks for around $24 usually). Good compact size, sheath seems nice, tested great on sharpness right out of the box. A++

Pros
  • Nice length and aggressive form. Well suited for close quarters... gardening.
Cons
  • May be difficult to clean after use
