Review on πŸ“Š 53315 Test, Measure & Inspect for Increased Efficiency by Jose Mcdaniel

I was one of those unlucky ones who bought a broken one with useless notches.

Bought this for projects in our new house a while back after we lost our previous house in a fire. Unfortunately, I had to do some smart home upgrades because I couldn't start projects on time during this tragedy. This is a great idea and would have saved so much time if it weren't for manufacturer errors. I finally used it and I really like it, except that the notches add extra time to the trace window. It tracks almost perfectly, and anyone who's installed old working boxes knows that if you don't get it right, you'll end up with a loose or worse box that doesn't fit at all. As a longtime business owner, I believe that if you are selling a product that is known to be defective, you should correct it with those who are unfortunate enough to purchase defective products. This product, like most power tools, was overpriced. Notching prolongs the process of filling in the corners first because if you cut it wrong you'll have trouble fitting the boxes. I don't want to buy a flawless one at the moment as my existing one was brand new. Now that I'm retired, I only make my own hands so I don't have to buy several of the same tools. If I buy a new one, I'll never use the one I have, so I'll pay double for one. If this one breaks, I'll consider purchasing a replacement with no fault defect. My rating is based on my purchased version with broken bugs. I paid €16.99 for my defective device. Okay, I'm doing a big Ubiquiti Network & Surveillance Camera Project. I'm using this template and it works fine, but I have to fill out two useless labels which reduces the time savings. I use a vibrating tool to cut it out. This is the ideal size for low voltage rings and 120v rebuild blocks. I'll see if there's anything new, if not I might have to consider buying a new serviceable version.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
