Others have recommended sticky padding to keep the saddle in place. A chest strap helps too, but I don't have one yet. The saddle itself is very comfortable for me as a rider and I imagine it will be great for short hacks, short trail rides, arena training and winter riding when I don't want to deal with hard, cold skin. I live in Minnesota and although we have an indoor arena it is not heated and my gear is stored in a locker which is also not heated. In winter I ride with bitless snaffles to avoid overheating a bit. I was hoping to notice that my horse liked the saddle too, but my mare hadn't been ridden for three months and it was hard to tell if she liked the saddle that much or not. She thought it was easy to move around in, but my mare doesn't like being ridden and this saddle hasn't changed her mind. However, I checked and didn't feel like pinching her withers even though she didn't have a tree and it seemed like it gave her spine good clearance. I've read on other sites that people in the saddle cut out a wider spinal canal and depending on how things go I might be able to do that. My gelding is currently out due to injury, but I'm curious to see how he fares under this saddle. For the money I think it's good gear for short trips, winter riding and so on. additional seat.
