Review on πŸ”ͺ Effortlessly Slice Through Cables with Pedro's Bicycle Cable Cutter by Mario Bullard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A must-have tool if you do bike maintenance yourself.

Although this tool is a bit pricey, I will use it several times a year to service my family's bike fleet. The cost is quickly offset by the cost of having your local bike shop do all the work for you. Bottom line, if you assume you'll only use it once, it's overpriced. However, if you cycle regularly, you will need to replace your cables at least once a year. The reliability of the index switches depends on the ease of movement of the cables. When cable covers wear out or get dirty, shifting suffers. These Pedro wire cutters cut the cable jacket perfectly without squeezing it. A broken house is a real pain. I have swapped cables and covers on two different bikes and Pedro's cutter has worked fine. There is still a slight warping of the case, but this can easily be corrected with an awl to reveal the inner teflon sleeve.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
