We live on our sailboat and always have these things in our "supply" kit in case the hatches above leak. It happened over our galley and we were busy steering the boat and didn't want to stop anywhere and change hatches. We used this material and covered the entire edge of the manhole. This quick decision took two years! In fact, it was still going strong despite being under full UV sunlight (in Mexico) when we pulled it out to finally get to that hatch. Excellent stuff.
