It's nice to have fine hand-dyed yarn, but I can't do anything with it until it's wound up. Before I bought this Swift, I had to force my husband or one of my sons to stand with my arms outstretched while I used the winch to create the ball. They were nice and all, but it's MUCH more efficient. Swift is easy to set up and use. I received the written instructions in two ways: I received an email while the swift was in transit and there was another copy of the instructions in the package. The swift itself is made of perfectly smooth wood and is very beautiful. It holds the yarn properly and maintains a very stable tension for the winder, resulting in a nice center draw yarn ball. I am very happy with this purchase. If you're a yarn maker buying skeins of yarn instead of prewound skeins or skeins, you won't regret this quick move.
