This is one of those items that, in theory, should be really cool to have but in practice has minimal functionality. It will definitely generate some "Oh, that’s cool!” comments when first pulled out at the gaming table but won’t have any real practical implications during gameplay. The wallet comes with a stack of cards pre-printed with a parchment background. You can write your spells on the cards and then slip them into the card holders. The first problem, however, is that the plastic for the card holders is slightly opaque, which makes reading the cards while they are in the holder a little difficult. The second problem is the lack of tabs. There is no real way to organize your spells by level or type or differentiate between your total spellbook versus your prepared spells. You are still "flipping through pages” so to speak to find your spells. A ring binder that allowed you to remove pages and rearrange them instead of the punched, permanently fixed style would have given this a lot more real-world functionality. At the end, it is an aesthetically pleasing item that will probably not get used, Which is a shame, because I really wanted to like this.
