Easy enough to install if you have basic carpentry skills. Came with good instructions and a helpful template to stick it on the wall. I preferred this product to the hook and ladder. I wasn't sure if my 8 year old would be able to get the hook and ladder from under his bed, hook them in, open the window and climb down (especially with the lights/electricity off). This product takes a few key steps out of the process and during our fire alarm my 8 year old daughter was able to leave the house with no problem. I would recommend this product to families with young children, although it is more expensive than the hook and ladder model.
