Very easy to remove and replace and clean
Alfie shelves are great for my pet rat. The shelves are very strong, easy to clean, easy to unscrew and move to different locations in the cage than the shelves that originally came with the cage. In my opinion, the best way to make the shelves more comfortable for small critters to climb onto the shelf is to have a small margin around the edge facing the inner cage so that the critter can climb onto it or one rougher place can grab surface to grab.
