Review on OXO Good Grips Silicone Flexible Tongs 🔳 Stainless Steel, Black - Sleek and Versatile Kitchen Utensils by Lacueva Tranquillity

First of all I love OXO products. Whenever we need to replace something, we check to see if OXO has it before considering other products. We probably have a few dozen OXO products, from food containers to towel dispensers to kitchen utensils, and we love them all. except for these pliers. The problem is that the locking mechanism doesn't work very well. It's a fairly minor issue, but significant compared to the rest of their range - when you open and close the pliers, the locking mechanism sometimes slips and it locks unexpectedly. This can be easily imitated by holding the pliers vertically with the slats pointing upwards and then opening and closing them – after a click or two, the clasp slides down. Now, you don't normally hold the pliers upright, but that also happens in normal use. It doesn't look like a faulty item either. I was able to bend the lock so it mostly stays in place but due to the quality of all the other OXO products we have purchased I bought a second set as I assumed the first one was faulty but this second set had the same problem. We have other products such as silicone salad tongs that have the same locking mechanism but do not have this issue, so the issue seems to be unique to this item. I still gave 4 stars because it is better than other products, even with a defect. But if I were to compare it to other OXO products, this is by far the most disappointing.
