My car was broken into last week so I want to install a camera in my driveway to monitor my cars. I chose this camera for several reasons: 1. Battery operated. I don't have electricity outside where the camera could be plugged in, same issue with WiFi, and it has a solar panel to keep the battery charged. So here is my review: PROS1. Everything you need is less than $100 and if you email them like I did, you'll get an 8% discount. The video is decent enough, I'd call it average by today's HD standards.3. Easy to set up Very quick and easy to set up.4. The supplier has a timely response, it is located in China, so please consider the time difference and do not expect a response in the middle of the night at your own time. The solar panel seems to keep the battery charged, not sure how it will perform on cloudy winter days. CONS1. The CloudEdge application requires a lot of work: a. No zone protection to block the area from detection. b. It is not possible to copy/save recordings to another device (phone). c. I think you have to go for the SD card to get the files and then I have no idea what format they are in or is it just one big file for all the entries. ** Modification. I found out that you watch a video and record it at the same time to save it on your phone ** Awkward. The alarm sound cannot be changed, it currently uses the default setting so I don't know if it's an email or an alarm. The UI is very clunky, which I might not notice if the above things were fixed. f. There is no way to save videos to your own cloud storage like Goggle or One Drive. G. I'm not sure why this app wants to access my location and contacts that I've blocked and it's still working. The delay between motion detection and recording is 3-4 seconds; I don't know if it's a camera or software issue. I can walk into my truck and get in, but the tape starts until my door closes, not realizing who entered. 3. They charge for cloud storage (not much, but still) and it's stored in China.4. False alerts, I got 12 alerts overnight but when I looked at the video there was nothing. I don't know if it was just false alarms or if something actually happened, but it wasn't recorded due to the delay mentioned above. I have disabled warnings because of this.5. Delay kills the deal for me. I walked between my two cars from the street to the house. I made it from the street to the house before he started walking at a normal pace. Although he warned me there was movement and made a video that doesn't show me.
