Brushes are essential for getting rid of dirt in hard-to-reach places, and they get the job done. I wish they were a little bigger but I can't complain. A plastic brush is good for the frame as it won't scratch the paint, while brass and steel brushes are great for your metal and plastic components (cassette, shifters, cranks, pedals, cranks, etc.). The only real complaint is that they're difficult to clean unless you soak them in some kind of solution. You can't scrub them because they will destroy anything you brush them with, except maybe another brush (actually, I could try that).
