This will probably work great with large and wide designs on smooth surfaces. However, I have tried applying an openwork carving of a vine to a textured fabric (faux leather) and nothing has come of it. When I fed it through the die cutter with the parchment on it as instructed, the backing peeled away from the adhesive. When I finally got the backing paper on one (wasted tons of product after three tries) and glued it to a test piece of fabric (using my iron on medium heat the design was covered with parchment within thirty seconds than the instructions stated), when I removed the backing the adhesive appeared on some of the thinner and more delicate areas. I tried reheating those areas to get it back but it just wouldn't stick, resulting in a messed up image. I'm very glad I decided to test this out first otherwise my fabric would have been ruined! I think the problem was in the texture of the faux leather. I haven't seen any indication anywhere not to use it on textured fabrics (and in fact, Revain's description specifically says it's great for porous surfaces). I'm very dissatisfied with this as I don't make gold/silver foil very often and can't imagine it being needed for anything else. It was a waste of money.
