My ice maker broke and I've decided to order a new fridge rather than repair it. While I wait, I should have made the ice cream the old way. I didn't want a tray that is difficult to work with and they are amazing. I found that the best way to de-ice is to leave it on for about three minutes after removing the protective case (which is also great as it keeps me from spilling water everywhere). After three minutes, flip the tray upside down over the ice storage area and rotate slightly to soften the ice, then press each of the silicone areas to drop each cube into the ice tray. The cubes aren't as big as regular ice cube trays, but I bought a set of four trays so there are enough cubes. This is a definite keeper.
