Even after reading some of the reviews I was wondering if the emergency weather radio would live up to its promise. Wow, I was wrong. This emergency weather radio with a small antenna really picks up a radio station that my $500 Yamaha stereo can't even pick up with an arc antenna! I like the SOS signal. It's really loud. There is only one speaker, but the sound is very good. The light is nice and bright. Even though the hand crank takes 5 minutes to give 5 minutes of radio time, it's actually enough to hear the weather report during a storm when the internal battery or 3 AAA batteries (not included ) are empty. The weather radio picks up the station well. I like it because it has a solar panel to back up the internal battery, although the instructions say it will take a while to charge. There is a USB cable for charging the internal battery. Hopefully we don't have storms to use it for, but it gives me peace of mind if it does.
