My OEM failed after 270,000 miles. Replaced by this one. The first didn't work for me. Bought a second one. It works, but not always. Tracking the coolant temperature with an OBD2 reader on my Honda CRV 03 with an outside temperature of 59 degrees Fahrenheit. Honda OEM. about 217 degrees Fahrenheit and shuts off at 180. Fans run longer than they should. The 2nd time, the motion switch activates the fans at 221 degrees Fahrenheit and turns them off again at 180. The fans run too long. The 3rd motion switch now activates the fans at 224-228 degrees Fahrenheit and does not turn the fans off until I turn off the machine myself. This sensor is very unstable and unreliable. There's no reason a switch should activate the fans at around 224-228 degrees F, especially for the aluminum block and heads. Don't trust the sensor in the car. By the time the device tells you that you're overheating, it's too late. They will blow the head gasket, or deform the head, or both. Use an OBD2 reader that can display vehicle data. I will end up buying OEM. It costs more, but it's better than constantly replacing those sensors.
