Great antenna with many advantages

This antenna surprised me in many ways. It was fairly priced compared to other antennas of this type, but this antenna has some advantages. First, it's mobile, which means it can be delivered to where it's needed or needed. It folds into two small bags. One is round with a radius of just over 9 inches and about 3 inches thick, and the other carries a tripod. It's about 2 feet long and about 4 inches in circumference. The antenna is very easy to install. I read the installation guide the night before and identified all the parts. I put everything back in the bag except for the installation instructions and then read through the 75/80m installation instructions and the 40m installation instructions. Including the installation of the radials, the initial installation took 35 minutes. Subsequent installs took 20-30 minutes depending on how far I made it to the RV the night before. Changing the strap is also easy. Easy to set up, but setup is thought through before first use. I expected the belt to be harder to change, if only because it's possible to get confused about what goes where when swapping out parts that look very similar. I couldn't be more wrong. I saw that there was a hole at 40 meters and started the timer. To change the antenna and tune to the desired frequency, I don't expect that time to be cut in half with experience. It will be as quick as switching bands and setting it up at home. The biggest surprise was the antenna tuning. I read the instructions but thought the company overestimated the tuned frequency range. In fact, they underestimated him at some points. Set up is quick and easy with the device switched on, I was able to work for a whole two weeks and establish contacts at 80, 75, 40, 20, 6 and 2 meters via this antenna. I have had good reports from almost all contacts. So I give this antenna five stars for cost, installation, band change, tuning and disassembly which I didn't mention but it's easier than installation. I suggest keeping a clean rag handy to wipe things down as they go into the bags. Especially if they were to be done early in the morning, like mine every morning. My only complaint is that I can't take off in the van as often as Inu would like. I'm in the process of planning a few trips to socialize by transferring from each of the bottom 48. I really want this to start.

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • No automation
