Good product overall

Set up is pretty easy. The tripod is lightweight, but the build quality is cheap. The handle broke after the first use. The rest of the components appear to be of good quality. I bought this for the ease of use. I wanted something that I can easily put on and take off when I'm done. Works fine on 2m so far, but on HF I hear nothing but hissing. I get some CW on 40m but not much else. It probably has more to do with where I mount it than the antenna itself. (I live in a restricted HOA community…

Almost everything I was hoping for

Works well overall. The antenna components appear to be of high quality and it works very well on HF and matches my 991A perfectly. It took a little practice to learn how to set it up manually using the manual, but now it's very easy. Please note that this guide is a guide and not an exact one. I haven't had much luck with the FM signal but I'm still working on it. Let me know if you have any suggestions. The KC9FXE initially had a bit of an issue with the mast detaching from the tripod, but…

Great antenna but the tripod fell apart.

This antenna is an amazing device. It's very easy to set up and works on multiple bands including 2m which is what I really need as an amateur. The reason I read this so low is that after using the antenna 3 times, part of the tripod ripped apart completely. . In particular, the screw in the head had snapped off. Everything else works very well. But this lack of a cheap tripod was very disappointing. Luckily, as I said, the head was snapped off, but that snapped screw is common on most tripods.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are drawbacks

Missing part, refuse to make it right.

The antenna works pretty much as you would expect from a tiny vertical antenna used on the lower bands. It's very tunable and I was able to make contact with it on 15, 20 and 40 meters. It's small and portable, packed into a very compact system that's pretty easy to set up and take down. So a good idea for trips or emergency operations. Setup is a bit tricky and I would recommend having an antenna analyzer with you so you can walk to the antenna, plug in the analyzer and tune in on part of the…

Good quality product but not easy to set up

I bought this antenna as a portable HF antenna and sometimes as a home base. The general build quality was good with the exception of the counterweight and tripod cables. The connectors were flimsy and I had to build them myself to attach to the base of the antenna. The tripod was not very good and the handle broke after the first use (too late to return). The instructions were good, but I had to repeat the assembly a few times. The images did not always match the product delivered, but after…

Great antenna with many advantages

This antenna surprised me in many ways. It was fairly priced compared to other antennas of this type, but this antenna has some advantages. First, it's mobile, which means it can be delivered to where it's needed or needed. It folds into two small bags. One is round with a radius of just over 9 inches and about 3 inches thick, and the other carries a tripod. It's about 2 feet long and about 4 inches in circumference. The antenna is very easy to install. I read the installation guide the night…
