Technically, this Garmin mount works because it's strong and easy to install. However, mounting the mount at a height where the Varia light and radar don't touch the rear wheel of my bike (frame size 56cm, wheels 700x28) means the mount mounts right in the middle of my seatpost. In this position, my inner legs rub against the binding when I pedal. It's incredibly annoying to have the feeling of a thick plastic ring hitting the inner thigh (even in racing suits). Also, the mounting ring just looks ugly sitting in the middle of the seatpost. Raising the light above the seatpost means the light is now blocked by my saddlebag (I have a relatively small SpeedSleev). I could take the bag off but the mount doesn't fit my seatpost which is on display above (Canyon VCLS). A little lower and the light will be level with my rear wheel. Back to the thin rubber O-rings.
