I read the reviews on this and they were great and the world seemed to work for the application I wanted. It's large though, about twice the size I expected, which isn't a deal breaker. What was a deal breaker was that along with the parts it's kind of a Frankenstein. The individual parts are of high quality, but together they do not form a rigid structure. The main drawback was the connection of the syringe portion to the applicator tubing, a tiny (approximately) 1/8 inch diameter flexible tubing that effectively limited the instrument to flow rate as well as maximum particle pickup. Secondary to this is flexible transparent Connecting a nylon tube between two rigid tubes creates another flexible connection where you want the feel of a single tube. In general I think people use it to feed their corals and that's what I wanted to use it for, so it's still a good product, but I contend that a syringe that connects directly to a hard hose, as well as a twist lock connections would be much better.
