I built a kayak carrier for my small 4 cylinder truck with 6 speed manual transmission so I can haul 2-12 foot fishing kayaks while towing my 18 foot RV trailer. With no kayaks to cut through the wind, the little truck struggles to maintain speed on the freeway. The frame is made of pine wood 2x2 and 2x3. These T-nuts allowed me to attach hardware with 1/4" screws without the screws protruding from the surface on the opposite side, and to remove and replace items without trying individual nuts and washers to pursue. Once installed, they stay in place. You can disassemble and reassemble parts if you only have access from one side. The key is not needed on the back. Once you start using them, the uses seem endless. I love these things!
