I was a little skeptical about how well something like this would work, but I decided to give it a shot. and i am not disappointed. I plugged it into my computer's USB hub and set it to room temperature. (72 degrees) 16 ounces of soda in it, and after a few seconds the back of the plate was already cold, and after 20 minutes the soda was noticeably colder. The device feels pretty solid, except perhaps for the door, which seems pretty light. Weight. But since it sits well on my desk as long as it isn't abused I think it will be fine.
